🎿 Fit for skiing – Workout tip 1: The ski squat

Strengthens the legs and improves balance

The ski squat is a powerful workout that challenges your thighs and improves your balance – perfect for fast and safe descents.

  • Position your feet shoulder-width apart on the floor.
  • Bend your knees, lean your upper body forward and keep your back straight.
  • Remain in this position for 30 seconds.
  • Then relax briefly in a standing position for 30 seconds and repeat the exercise three times.

 

 

🎿 Fit for skiing – Workout tip 2: The lunge

Strengthens legs and buttocks, promotes stability

The lunge is an effective method of strengthening the muscles in the thighs and buttocks and improving stability – essential for every skiing enthusiast.

  • Stand on your mat and raise your right leg.
  • Take a strong step forward so that your upper and lower leg form a right angle while your left knee hovers just above the floor.
  • Bring your right leg back to the center and then take a step backwards. Make sure that your left knee and left foot form a line.
  • Repeat this sequence approx. 15-30 times before changing legs.

Strengthens the thighs and back

The bridge is ideal for strengthening the muscles you use when skiing.

  • Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet close to your buttocks.
  • Raise your pelvis until your thighs and upper body form a line.
  • Hold the position for 20-30 seconds.
  • Slowly lower your pelvis and repeat the exercise 3-5 times.
